ASV introduces the SR-80 rubber track loader, which features an exclusive, independent and multi-suspension undercarriage. The SR-80 features 2.84-psi ground pressure, 20-inch-wide tracks and 15 inches of ground clearance. The track loader is powered by a turbocharged Perkins diesel engine and is rated at 80.5-hp. It has a tipping load of 6,200 pounds and is rated with a 3,100-pound operating capacity. Tracks on the SR-80 are driven by two-speed drive motors, capable of travel speeds as high as 12.5 mph in the high-speed range and as high as 7 mph in the low-speed range.

Bobcat offers its hydraulically driven snowblower attachment for its compact loader. It is designed for clearing snow off driveways, sidewalks or other tight spaces. Its adjustable-height skid shoes can position the cutting edge for gravel or pavement. It features a rotating chute and deflector to point the snow in any direction. Three models are available in widths from 36 to 84 inches. The snowblower features direct-drive hydraulic motors for the fan and auger, eliminating high-wear items such as gearboxes, chains, sprockets and shear pins.

Case Construction Equipment expanded its line of compact track loaders from two machines to four. The new models include the 420CT and 440CT, rated at 56 and 82 net hp, respectively. The models feature dozer-style undercarriages; large displacement, high-torque Case Tier II engines; low-effort servo controls; a robust chassis design and easy daily service points. The loaders also incorporate a unitized welded-steel, tub-style chassis designed for heavy workloads.

The Caterpillar 267B, 277B and 287B Multi-Terrain Loaders feature new turbocharged engines with more power, higher breakout forces, redesigned operator station components and design changes that improve reliability and serviceability. The loaders are compact, rubber-tracked machines designed for versatility, flotation, traction, stability and ride quality. The suspended undercarriage transfers machine weight to the ground through wheeled contact points bearing against the track for low ground pressure. The 287B has an operating capacity of 3,600 pounds, the 277B has an operating capacity of 2,950 pounds and the 267B has an operating capacity of 2,900 pounds at 50 percent tipping load.

Compact Power introduces the newly redesigned Boxer 526DX. The track-driven 526DX diesel unit is an update of the Boxer TD-327 model. It is designed for the landscaping, rental and construction markets. The 526DX mini-skid offers an integrated track system that retracts from a fully extended 43.5 inches to a width of 35 inches and is controlled by a joystick lever on the control panel. The variable track design makes it simple for the operator to maneuver through tight areas, such as gates and sidewalks with ease, then extend back to full width for increased stability while in operation.

Ditch Witch introduces the SK650 mini skid steer that is equipped with a 31-hp Kubota turbo diesel engine and directs 20 net hp to the attachment. Both the fuel and hydraulic tanks are mounted on the outside of the machine's frame, allowing larger tanks. With an 8-gallon fuel capacity, most jobs can be completed without having to refuel. The SK650 is also equipped with a foot pedal auxiliary control that allows the operator to drive the attachment by foot, freeing up his hands to control depth and ground speed.

Hitachi announces the Zaxis 27u-2 compact excavator, which features a comfortable operator's station, along with competitive fuel economy and long service intervals that deliver low operating costs. Productivity receives a boost from improvements, including increased operating speeds, 50-percent more drawbar pull and automatic shifting between high and low travel speeds. Cycle times have been cut by 18 percent, allowing operators to dig more cubic yards per hour. A new long arm/counterweight option adds close to 12 inches of dig depth and reach.

Gehl Co. adds the 3-ton model 383Z zero-tail-swing compact excavator to its product line. It is designed to operate close to walls and obstructions without risk of contact. The size of the operator's compartment is maximized by mounting the 29-hp Yanmar diesel engine on the side of the machine, and the hydraulic and fuel tanks on the rear of the machine, which provides the operator with more space and legroom. In order to maximize serviceability, the cab tilts to the side for quick access to service points for hydraulics, rotary transmission, control block and the air-conditioning unit.

The new 75C zero-tail-swing excavator from John Deere is designed for light residential and confined jobsites. It offers a 54-net-hp engine and features Deere's Powerwize II engine/hydraulic system, which senses when additional power is needed, and balances hydraulic pressure and flow to ensure hydraulic functions are smooth. The Powerwize II system enables multi-function operation, minimizes fuel consumption and maximizes engine output. The 75C features an integral backfilling blade that is a part of the machine's chassis and takes advantage of the 12,350 pounds of drawbar pull.

Komatsu America Corp. announces the WB146-5 and the WB146PS-5 backhoe loaders with Tier 2 engine. Both machines have an operating weight range of 16,090 pounds with a large loader bucket of 1.25 cubic yards. The drivetrain includes a 4-speed synchro-shuttle transmission with standard 4-wheel drive for greater traction in soft soil applications. The WB146PS-5 includes a full Power Shift transmission with twist grip gear control. It is designed with a one-piece welded mainframe for stability and durability and the new S-shaped backhoe boom is engineered narrower and stronger for increased lifting capacity, enhanced truck loading and breakout force.

Kubota introduces three new zero-tail-swing (ZTS) excavators, adding the U15, U25 and U45 models to the U-series lineup. These 1.5-ton, 2.5-ton and 4.5-ton excavators, respectively, are designed for work in tight spaces. The new U series models are designed to move with no rear overhang beyond the width of the tracks, to optimize operator visibility and to expand operator control and comfort features. The hydraulic systems on all three models can accommodate a variety of attachments, such as breakers and augers, and the auxiliary hydraulic connections are located within easy reach, incorporating short hoses that are less easily tangled or damaged.

Mustang has added a new feature to its 2109 skid steer: a 99-hp Cummins diesel engine. The Tier II emissions-certified, turbo-charged engine offers 305 foot-pounds of torque, nearly 5 percent more than the previous engine. The Cummins B4.5T direct-injected engine offers easier access to important maintenance points, including the dipstick, oil fill and air cleaner. The conventional liquid-cooled design requires oil/filter changes at 500-hour intervals after the initial 50-hour service. A grid-heater glow system provides easy preheat capabilities, helping operators in cold environments get to work quickly, even on the coldest of days.

With increased engine and hydraulic power and a choice of buckets and attachments, the new W50TC and W80TC compact wheel loaders from New Holland are designed for backfilling, digging, grading, hauling, scraping or stacking applications in tight work spaces. These versatile machines are powered by oil-cooled Deutz engines that produce 55 and 75 gross hp. Operating weights are 10,173 and 12,727 pounds, while bucket capacities are 1.0 and 1.44 cubic yards. The compact loaders are equipped with a two-speed, hydrostatic transmission that allows travel speeds up to 12.4 mph.

Rayco Manufacturing introduces the C87Lxp, which is designed for abrasive forestry applications. Contractors looking to shear or saw trees, mow dense underbrush or grapple logs will find the C87Lxp up to the task. This steel-tracked loader has an 87-hp turbo-charged, liquid-cooled Deutz diesel engine. The hydraulic system boasts 41 gpm high flow and 20.6 gpm low flow. Rayco's exclusive forestry cooling package includes a hydraulic cooler mounted in the limb riser in addition to the larger diameter trash free engine cooler. Auxiliary rear hydraulics allow operators to run various attachments such as a regular winch or a skidder winch.

The TB153FR zero-swing compact excavator from Takeuchi features a patented side-to-side offset boom system to give the operator the ability to slew 360 degrees within inches of the machine width. The STS boom design coupled with a low machine center of gravity provides the digging speed, stability, power and visibility found in Takeuchi's conventional excavators. Yanmar introduces the CBL40 compact tractor, loader, backhoe designed for the professional customer with a durable welded construction mainframe. The CBL40 features a Hydro Mechanical Transmission engineered to blend the advantages of a hydrostatic transmission with those of a purely mechanical transmission without the disadvantages of either.
