U.S. 2002 SNOWBLOWER EXPORTS AND IMPORTS
The Office of Consumer Goods reports latest numbers on U.S. snowblower exports to 25 countries and imports from 15 countries. Year-to-date (YTD) 2002 figures show the United States imported the largest amount of snowblowers from Japan and exported the most to Canada. Imports from Japan were up 14.2 percent compared to YTD figures in 2001. Exports to Canada decreased by 33.4 percent from YTD numbers a year ago. Other countries that sent snowblowers to the United States included China, Canada and Finland. In addition to Canada, the United States sent snowblowers to Sweden, China and Russia. The total amount of import dollars from the top 15 countries for YTD 2002 amounted to $20,794, a 41.1-percent increase from 2001. The total amount of exports to the top 25 countries resulted in $21,768, a 7.4-increase from a year ago.
