BASF Insignia Fungicide Receives Federal Registration for Residential Use

Industry studies estimate that less than half of the nationís lawn care operators (LCOs) are taking advantage of fungicide treatments in their service offerings. BASF (NYSE: BF) has announced federal registration for residential use of its broad-spectrum Insignia fungicide.

At a price of $6.28 per 1,000 square feet with up to 28 days of control, Insignia gives residential lawn and landscape operators broad spectrum, extended control of more than 15 major turfgrass diseases, including brown patch, Pythium blight and leaf diseases and red thread.

Insignia fungicide is a local penetrant with translaminar movement that allows the product to re-distribute from the point of application in the plant. Insignia is recommended to control the following turfgrass pathogens: anthracnose, brown patch, leaf spot, dollar spot (suppression only), red thread, fairy ring, gray snow mold, pink snow mold, Fusarium patch, gray leaf spot, melting out, pink patch, powdery mildew, Pythium blight, rapid blight, rust, summer patch and take-all patch.

For maximum efficiency, Insignia should be applied preventively but also may be used curatively for some diseases.
