Ag Industry Veteran Joins KALO Inc.
KALO, Inc., recently announced that Doug John joined the company as its new director of sales and marketing, effective May 2.
John’s job includes coordinating the selling efforts of KALO regional business managers and independent representatives. His first objectives are to maintain and build relationships with KALO’s existing agricultural customers and help develop new business opportunities within the current customer base for both Ag and Turf product lines.
John is a 33-year veteran of the agricultural business. He began his career with Monsanto where his focus was on technical sales. After serving three years as president and general manager of Waverly Farm Supply in Waverly, Iowa, he joined the sales and marketing team of BASF, where he worked for 28 years.
In addition to achieving ambitious sales goals and providing professional customer service and technical support to clients, his accomplishments at BASF included managing its Communications Service Group, launching a semiochemical product line and two new herbicides, creating many successful marketing programs and developing an innovative e-commerce and communications strategy for the e-Initiatives Group.
John served for seven years on the Agricultural Advisory Council for Central Missouri State University and received a Distinguished Service Award from the university’s College of Agriculture in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture in Ames, Iowa.
