More than 30 Atlanta-area golf course superintendents heard presentations about Poa annua management, summer bentgrass decline and recent advances in turfgrass cultural practices at a recent seminar sponsored by Bayer Environmental Science. Held at the Marietta Country Club, the meeting focused on improving turf quality of bentgrass greens. A panel addressing various bentgrass topics included Courtney Young, of Ansley Golf Club in Roswell Creek, Ga.; Ralph Kepple, of East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta; Pat O’Brien, of the USGA Southern Region; and Wade Thomas, of Idle Hour Golf Club in Macon, Ga.
