Bayer Announces Registrations of Armada Fungicide
A new fungicide product specifically designed and priced for lawn care use has been registered by the EPA, Bayer Environmental Science recently announced. Armada 50 WP fungicide provides control of the two major lawn care diseases, brown patch and dollar spot, as well as 12 other turf diseases.
“Armada offers both preventive and curative disease control and provides control for 30 days,” said Eric Kalasz, business manager, fungicides, for Bayer. “The product is a natural fit for lawn care operators, who may only visit a property once a month.”
Packaged in convenient, water-soluble packets, Armada can be applied with backpack or tank sprayers. The product contains trifloxystrobin and triadimefon, active ingredients from the strobilurin and sterol inhibitor chemistry classes, respectively. The product provides both contact and systemic turf protection.
In addition to brown patch and dollar spot, Armada controls anthracnose, leaf spot, red thread, southern blight and summer patch, among other turf diseases. Researchers and trial users have reported exceptional results, including superior disease control and long residual activity.
Armada is registered for use by licensed, commercial lawn care operators on residential and commercial turf, as well as on sod farms. The product has good compatibility for tank mixing with foliar fertilizers or insecticides.
