Bobcat Serves as Tenant of NDSU Center for Technology Enterprise
Bobcat Company, a business of Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited, a diversified industrial firm, will be the anchor tenant of the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Center for Technology Enterprise, at the NDSU Research & Technology Park in Fargo, N.D. A formal groundbreaking for the facility will take place this month.
Bobcat officials say a five-year plan includes floor space to accommodate around 50 Bobcat engineers, a working technology lab, and indoor testing area. In all, Bobcat will occupy around 15,000 square feet. This facility will become a key research and development (R&D) facility for Bobcat, working closely with the company's global engineering design centers and manufacturing plants.
"We have enjoyed a productive working relationship with North Dakota State University for quite some time," said Richard Pedtke, Ingersoll-Rand senior vice president and Compact Vehicle Technologies sector president and CEO (responsible for both Bobcat and Club Car). "Now, we are eager to expand the partnership with NDSU, and take advantage of its extensive science and technology resources."
Bobcat is already an NDSU Research & Technology Park tenant, and the company has three engineers working there now. They'll continue to add individuals as construction progresses, before moving them all into the new facility when it opens.
