In addition to the Theodore Brickman Scholarship, The Hunt Family Scholarship was established by Bruce Hunt, a Senior Vice President at Brickman. This scholarship, which was awarded to John Eastman of Michigan State University, was created in recognition of Hunt’s desire to give back to the industry.
The awards were presented in a ceremony at PLANET’s Student Career Days event, hosted by Brigham Young University. The weeklong event provides students, professors, and professionals a chance to interact and embrace the importance of education in the Green Industry. Workshops, competitions, and a career fair allow students to explore all aspects of the industry and get an understanding of potential career paths. Approximately 40 scholarships were awarded at this year’s conference, recognizing outstanding students and future leaders of the Green Industry.
