New England Grows Awards $30,000 in Cooperative Extension Grants
New England Grows recently announced that it has awarded $30,000 in grants to the six New England state Cooperative Extension Systems at its 14th annual educational conference and exposition at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center held Jan. 31-Feb. 2, 2006. Over the past decade, New England Grows has contributed approximately $330,000 to the regional Cooperative Extension Systems to help shape the future of New England’s green industry.
The grant monies are used by the six Cooperative Extension Systems in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont to sponsor research studies, surveys, scholarships, plant trials and valuable publications for green industry professionals. At the New England Grows show this year, several of the state extension programs’ booths featured displays showcasing the results of research sponsored by New England Grows.
