EXPO 2005 Visitor Registrations Increase 7 Percent
The International Lawn, Garden & Power Equipment Expo, sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, hosted a growing audience in the newly expanded South Wing of the Kentucky Exposition Center on Oct.14-16.
Compared with registrations for EXPO 2004, the total number of buying registrants was up 7 percent, with a 5-percent increase in dealers/retailers and a 14-percent increase in lawn and landscape professionals. With 706 people registered from other countries, international registrations were up 61 percent. A new category for parks and recreation professionals had 435 registrants. Registrations for all buyer categories totaled 17,487. Exhibitors added another 5,529 people.
EXPO 2005 compared with 2004 registrations:
- International: +61 percent
- Lawn & landscape pros: +14 percent
- Dealers/retailers: +5 percent
- Rental dealers: -2 percent
- Lawn & garden centers: -1 percent
- Distributors: -16 percent
Industry members who wanted to stay on the cutting edge were in Louisville to see the newest products and learn about the latest industry trends. More than 50 products were spotlighted in the New Products & Innovations Showroom, which highlighted the latest innovations on the show floor.
Visitors also found a wide range of new features and educational opportunities. Free seminar programs and Q&A sessions provided take-home value for dealers and lawn and landscape professionals. LandsConference offered 18 onsite accredited sessions for landscapers, arborists, golf course superintendents, sports turf experts and parks and recreation pros.
