United Phosphorus, Inc (UPI) has been granted section 3 EPA approval for UP-Star SC Lawn and Nursery Insecticide/Miticide and UP-Star Gold insecticide, two generic products developed for turf and ornamental, pest control and other non-crop markets based on the active ingredient bifenthrin.

UP-Star SC Lawn and Nursery Insecticide/Miticide, a Restricted Use Pesticide, is approved for commercial non-food use on indoor and outdoor ornamentals, greenhouses, nurseries, turf on golf courses, sod farms, and ornamentals and lawns in landscaped areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas, golf courses, sod farms and athletic fields.

UP-Star Gold Insecticide is approved to control termites as well as a wide spectrum of common pests in pre-construction, post-construction and general commercial indoor/outdoor use. UP-Star Gold can be used to control pests in interiorscapes and outdoor plantscapes, around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, recreational areas, parks, lawns and grounds.

Both UP-Star products can be tank-mixed with other pesticides, including insect-growth regulators.
