Ariens Mowers Receive Consumers Digest Best Buy Awards
Two Ariens lawn mower models have been identified as Consumers Digest Best Buys in the April 2004 issue of Consumers Digest magazine, distributed in March. A Consumers Digest Best Buy is a nationally available product identified as one that merits special attention from consumers based on its combination of performance, ease-of-use features, durability, warranty, efficiency, styling, and maintenance and servicing requirements.
The Ariens lawn mower models recognized as Consumers Digest Best Buys are:
- Ariens LM 21 AL
(Gasoline-Powered Push-Mowers Category) Recognized for its lightweight aluminum deck, folding ergonomic handle, rear-bagging or rear-discharge options with affordable optional mulching kit, and garden-hose fitting for easier cleanup.
- Ariens RER 1232 Hydro
(Riding Mowers Category) Recognized by the publication as an easily maneuvered machine with a turning radius of just 12 inches and a hydrostatic drive that makes for smooth operation with single-pedal foot control.
“We put a lot of emphasis on creating high-quality products that cut down on time and effort spent on lawn care, providing homeowners more time with their families,” says Dan Ariens, company president. “We’re continuously making improvements to ensure our lawn care equipment ranks among the safest and most efficient in the industry.”
On average, a Consumers Digest Best Buy rating is awarded to fewer than 3 percent of the competing models in any given product category, according to the publication.
The sources for all Consumers Digest Best Buy recommendations are based on criteria derived from at least three of the following: 1.) Personal (hands-on) product evaluations by the authors and researchers; 2.) Independent testing and research facilities, including colleges and universities, technical schools and independent labs; 3.) Reports from federal, state and other governmental agencies; 4.) Other independent technical experts; 5.) Retail establishments; 6.) Service outlets; 7.) Consumers Digest reader and other surveys; 8.) Previously published evaluations in books, magazines, newspapers, Web sites, etc.
