AT&T Wins Global Networking Contract From Briggs & Stratton
AT&T announced today it has won a multi-million dollar global networking contract from Briggs & Stratton Corp., the world's largest producer of air-cooled gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment.
The contract renews an existing agreement that includes long-distance, Internet, teleconferencing and domestic data services, and adds AT&T managed international data service and increased networking capacity.
AT&T's global networking solution enables Briggs to implement collaborative business applications throughout the United States, Europe and Africa that improve customer service, speed sales order fulfillment and reduce costs. The solution supports Briggs' international requirements for a secure, reliable network as it experiences dramatic growth outside the U.S.
AT&T will integrate most of Briggs' voice, data and Internet services with the AT&T Business Network (ABN) offer. In addition to providing discounts across all services, ABN provides a secure Web-based portal with full access to network account information and time-saving online tools to monitor network performance, manage the network, and review and pay bills.
"Our business plan required us to expand our network and increase its capacity," said Jay Shaffer, Director IT Global Operations. "Through our business relationship, AT&T has demonstrated that it has the expertise and global reach to implement a solution that would meet our needs. AT&T didn't disappoint. It worked closely with us to understand our business requirements and to plan and deliver an innovative solution."
