Audubon Golf Trail officially opens
The Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism officially launched the Audubon Golf Trail, an initiative to attract players to all parts of Louisiana while promoting the state as a premier and diverse golfing destination. Tourism officials developing the Trail plan to capitalize on Louisiana 's lure with the theme "Great Golf, Among Other Things". Beginning in October, the department launched a $1.1 million advertising campaign featuring each of the six member courses: Olde Oaks in Shreveport; Cypress Bend near Many; Gray Plantation in Lake Charles; Tamahka Trails in Marksville; The Island in Plaquemine and The Bluffs on Thompson Creek in St. Francisville.
