Bayer Sponsors STMA Field of the Year Program
Bayer Environmental Science will be a sponsor for the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) Annual Field of the Year program in 2003 and 2004, the company recently announced.
The STMA program gives Field of the Year awards for baseball, football, soccer and softball. Awards may be issued within three different categories: fields used by professional teams, college fields, and fields used by other schools or parks and recreation departments.
For 2003, a new award has been added: Sports Complex of the Year. Entrants in this category must have a minimum of four fields and the complex must host a minimum of three sports. Sponsors commit to a two-year sponsorship.
“Sports turf is a vital part of our turf business and this program is an excellent way for us to support sports turf managers throughout the country,“ says Marc McNulty, marketing manager for insecticides, Bayer Environmental Science.
The awards are presented at the STMA Annual Conference in January. Winners are profiled in SPORTSTURF magazine, recognized on the STMA Website (www.sportsturfmanager.com) and featured in the STMA newsletter. They receive an award plaque, an STMA Jacket, STMA Annual Conference registration and assistance with travel and lodging for the conference.
