Bobcat president resigns

Chuck Hoge resigned last week as president of Bobcat, one of North Dakota's largest employers, Bobcat's parent company announced. Bobcat, West Fargo, N.D., makes skid steer loaders and other construction equipment. It is a subsidiary of New Jersey-based Ingersoll-Rand.

"The larger business unit under which Bobcat belongs, called the infrastructure sector, underwent some reorganization changes," said Ingersoll-Rand spokesman Paul Dickard. "With that, there were changes in the responsibilities for several people, one of them being Mr. Hoge. He decided he wanted to go in a different direction."

Dickard said Ingersoll-Rand has named Jim Sharp as the new president of Bobcat.

Hoge had been president and chief executive officer of Bobcat since 1998. Earlier, he worked for Clark Equipment, Bobcat's former owner, dating back to 1978.
