Certification Awarded to Three GCBAA Members
The Golf Course Builders Association of America announces the addition of Oliphant Golf Course Construction, Inc., SEMA Golf LLC and Weitz Golf International to the Professional Certification Program.
Established in 1992, the GCBAA Professional Certification Program was designed to identify competent and experienced golf course builders and ensure uniform quality standards within the industry. GCBAA certified builders must be in the golf construction business at least five years, provide professional and financial references, attend at least one BCBAA educational session annually, pass a written exam and engage in ethical business practices.
Oliphant Golf Construction, Inc., was founded by Mike Oliphant in 1996. Oliphant Golf works throughout the United States on both new golf course construction and renovations.
SEMA Golf LLC, is a privately owned golf course construction company based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Established in 1998, SEMA Golf provides construction services on a nationwide basis, and internationally through their subsidiary SEMA Golf International.
Weitz Golf International, a division of the 148-year old Weitz Company, provides golf course and clubhouse construction services nationwide. Weitz Golf’s experienced personnel have completed over 300 projects worldwide and are currently working on 14 projects across the United States.
