Companies consolidate under Vopak

The Van Waters & Rogers (VW&R) and Ellis & Everard (E&E) brands consolidated under the Vopak name in April. The name changes to Vopak USA Inc. and Vopak Canada Ltd. were announced along with a new geographic realignment and leadership appointments.

Representatives from Vopak say that the restructuring reflects the expanding global presence of the Rotterdam-based parent, Royal Vopak, which deals with oil and chemical storage, logistics and distribution.

“With the increasing globalization of our business and the rapid growth of e-commerce, we have much to gain by operating under a single global brand,” said Simpson.

Pro forma sales for the combined Vopak chemical distribution organization as it exists today would have been US$2.9 billion in North America and EUR$1.5 billion in Europe for 1999.
