Compass Label Amended for Dollar Spot
A label amendment was recently granted by the EPA for Compass Fungicide, stating the product suppresses dollar spot (Sclerotinia) on bentgrass golf course greens, tees and fairways, announced Bayer Environmental Science. The label is pending in some states.
“We saw dramatic results at several of our research sites throughout this past year, which allowed us to add this amendment to the Compass label,“ says Rich Hanrahan, senior product development manager for fungicides for Bayer ES. “... While Compass is primarily used for control of brown patch, anthracnose, gray leaf spot and other turf diseases, the product provides the additional benefit of suppressing dollar spot.”
Golf course superintendents still need to use a second product for dollar spot control, Hanrahan notes. “But superintendents can be assured that Compass suppresses dollar spot at the same time it controls other diseases,” he adds.
