Contest winners gather in Charlotte for Winston Cup race
Textron Golf, Turf and Specialty Products announced that seven golf course superintendents from the United States and Canada were winners of the recent Jacobsen Super LF 1880 Demonstration Contest. Contest winners received an all-expenses paid trip for two to Charlotte, N.C., on October 11-13, 2002. During their visit to Charlotte, the superintendents met with company executives, engineers and product managers and toured Textron’s Center of Competency for Turf care. On October 13, they and their guests viewed the UAW-GM 500 NASCAR Winston Cup race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
“The Super LF-1800 contest generated a lot of excitement,” says Jon Carlson, president of Textron Golf, Turf and Specialty Products. “The superintendents who were at the race qualified to win the tickets by seeing a demonstration of the benefits of the Super LF-1880 on their golf course.”
The contest winners were: Andy Fassett - Sugar Creek GC - Villa Park, Ill.; Todd Schmitz - Fox Valley GC - North Aurora, Ill.; Terry Boehm - Avon Oaks CC - Avon, Ohio; Bob Maibusch - Hinsdale Golf Club - Claredon Hills, Ill.; Paul Brown - Islington Golf Club - Islington, Ontario, Canada; John Shaw - Rolling Hills Country Club - McMurray, Penn.; Paul Dermott - Oakdale Golf and CC - Downsview, Ontario, Canada.
