Contractors Nationwide “Jump Start” Season with John Deere Credit Programs
More than 1,000 landscape and irrigation contractors nationwide have signed up to offer John Deere Credit financing programs to homeowner clients this season, reported Michael McGrady, senior vice president at John Deere Landscapes.
“In just the first four months of 2003, more than twice the number of contractors have signed up compared to last year,” he said. “We expect many more contractors will actively participate and offer John Deere Credit as the season starts to heat up.”
Last year was the first season that contractors had the opportunity to present John Deere Credit programs to homeowners through John Deere Landscapes, the landscape distribution division of Deere and Company. John Deere Landscapes has 250 locations across the United States.
More than $10 million in landscape improvements were financed through John Deere Credit in 2002.
“With the surge in contractor participation this year, we expect more than $40 million will be written in landscape financing packages through John Deere Credit in 2003,” said McGrady.
John Deere Credit programs are designed to help landscape professionals sell landscape improvements to their homeowner-clients. A range of affordable programs are offered, including 180 days same-as-cash and 6.9 percent financing.
“These financing programs help contractors sell complete landscaping packages with automated irrigation systems, landscape lighting, extensive nursery and garden products, water gardens and more,” said McGrady.
“By offering financing with low monthly payments, contractors can often up-sell their clients and increase the overall size of the job,” he said.
“For example, with low cost financing, an automated irrigation system or landscape lighting will increase a homeowner’s payment by just $25.00 to $50.00 per month,” he said.
Contractors who are interested in offering John Deere Credit financing to their homeowner-clients can enroll at their local John Deere Landscapes branch. For more information, call 800-347-4272 or see more about the program on the Web site at www.JohnDeereLandscapes.com.
