Ergonomics: The issue that everyone hoped had gone away
U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao has suggested that a plan for developing a new ergonomics standard will be released in September. Unlike the old one, this one will follow, and be built around, these general principles: prevention, sound science, flexibility and clarity. ANLA and other impacted industries are working with the agency to ensure that our voices and concerns are heard and that a new standard will be more reflective of the "real world" and the problems facing workers in repetitive environments.
