Field Day on Turfgrass and Landscape Research
The Turfgrass and Landscape Management Field Day will provide professionals in the turf and landscape industry with a series of research updates and demonstrations this September 24, 2002 at the University of California, Riverside. Organizers of the event are Environmental Horticulturists, Victor Gibeault and Dennis Pittenger, under the sponsorship of the UC Cooperative Extension, UCR’s Botany and Plant Sciences Department, and UCR Agricultural Operative.
The half-day program consists of 8 presentations at the UC Riverside Agricultural Experiment Station, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. UC scientists will explain their on-going research on greenwaste compost use in turf, transplanting palms, dry-down responses of turfgrasses, new fungicides for controlling turfgrass disease, and impacts of landscape pesticides on urban water quality. Others will show applications of research findings on topics related to planting procedures for woody plants, weed identification and management, and best management practices for fertilizing lawns.
Attendees can earn pest control, ISA, and CCNPro continuing education credits.
