GCSAA members to participate in PGA TOUR John Deere Pro-Am event

Ten golf course superintendents and their employers will compete in the John Deere Golf & Turf Superintendent Pro-Am tournament as part of the PGA TOUR John Deere Classic, Sept. 7-10, at the Tournament Players Club at Deere Run near Moline, Ill. Also held in conjunction with the Pro-Am will be the Employer/Superintendent Recognition program created by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and Deere & Company.

"This program is an excellent way for superintendents to spend quality time with their employers, experiencing a top golf facility away from their own course," said GCSAA President Jon D. Maddern, CGCS. "We thank our friends and partners at John Deere who make this wonderful opportunity available to GCSAA superintendents and employers."

Winners were randomly drawn from a pool of 346 entries to participate in a three-day VIP program, including two rounds of golf, paid travel expenses, receptions, meals and lodging.
