Husqvarna and Unifire Team Up to Support Training for Fire Service Personnel
Husqvarna has teamed up with Unifire/Univent to provide fire saws to help train fire service personnel across the country. The co-sponsorship supports the “Firehouse On The Road” training series, in conjunction with TRT, Inc.
Unifire, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-tech firefighting products, and Husqvarna are supplying 20 pro saws, customized for fire service use. These Univent model PS-16 saws can function in heavy smoke and high heat while providing high power to cut through nails and other impediments to rescue efforts.
The saws will be used in hands-on, “live fire” training for professionals in the following locations:
Atlanta, Ga.: Sept. 11-14, 2003
Fort Worth, Texas: Oct. 15-18, 2003
Albuquerque, N.M.: Nov. 12-15, 2003
The Firehouse On The Road series is recognized as one of the premier training programs for fire service personnel and this year expects to instruct 5,000 participants.
“We’re proud to work with an industry leader like Unifire in this important effort,” said Barbara Paez, vice president, marketing for Husqvarna. “Through our support, we want to help ensure that fire fighting professionals have the tools and training to do their jobs well.”
“Unifire and Husqvarna have been working together for 15 years, and we are glad to continue our partnership,” said Dan Raczykowski, president of Unifire. “We believe that this specialized training with fire saws is important because it can save lives and property faster and more safely.”
