John Deere launches redesigned Web site

John Deere's Construction & Forestry Equipment Web site has new conveniences, including a feature that allows a contractor to configure a machine from start to finish and send it to his local dealer for a price quote. Construction and forestry products are combined into the same Web space for easier navigation. All of the equipment now is represented visually, with a range of information that delves into the features and benefits of specific sub-systems of the machine.

Two significant additions to the site include a "Compare" link, which offers competitive spec comparisons, and a "Build Your Own" link. The "Compare" feature includes a database with specs for John Deere equipment and comparable competitive models listed side-by-side, allowing the customer to directly compare the equipment.  The "Build Your Own" section hooks a customer into an online product configurator that includes all of the engineering build rules, allowing him to build a piece of equipment exactly the way he wants it, and then send it to the local dealer electronically for a quote. Each product in the construction and forestry lineup includes these features.
