John Deere Licenses clean-burning engine technology
Deere
and Co. recently signed a technology sharing agreement with Stihl to develop and
manufacture engines using a reduced-emission 2-stroke fuel-handling technology
developed by John Deere.
Stihl
will use the technology in some of its products to satisfy CARB II and EPA Phase
II regulations.

Deere is offering this fuel handling technology, which it jointly developed with Design & Manufacturing Solutions Inc., to other companies under license agreements. The technology may have applications beyond handheld equipment including walk-behind products, utility engines snowmobiles and motor scooters.
