John Deere Sponsors First Habitat Home
John Deere has partnered with Greater Black Hawk County Habitat for Humanity and donated resources to build a home for a family in Waterloo, Iowa.
As a corporate sponsor, John Deere will fund the home at $50,000 and staff a work crew. Michael Weinert, general manager of John Deere Engine Works, serves on Habitat’s board of directors and plans to help with construction.
“We’re happy to partner to improve housing in Black Hawk County and show our commitment to community,” Weinert said. “We have many John Deere employees who live in this area, and this is our chance to help renew the neighborhood.”
