Johnston Elected President of American Society of Golf Course Architects
Clyde Johnston of Hilton Head, S.C., was elected president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects at the organization’s 57th annual meeting in Pittsburgh.
Johnston, who has served as an ASGCA officer for the past three years, will also chair the Executive Committee. Bill Love, College Park, Md., Vice President; Tom Marzolf, Hendersonville, N.C., Treasurer; Greg Muirhead, Montclair, N.J., Secretary; and Jay Morrish, Flower Mound, Texas, Past President, also are members of the Executive Committee.
Johnston has operated Clyde Johnston Designs, Inc., for the past 16 years, and has designed such notable layouts as Shaftesbury Glen G&FC, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Old South Golf Links, Hilton Head Island, S.C.; Springfield Golf Club, Ft. Mill, S.C.; St. Johns G&CC, St. Augustine, Fla.; and Cherry Blossom GC, Lexington, Ken.
