Lebanon Seaboard presents check to Rutgers University
Lebanon Seaboard Corporation recently presented a check for $102,934 to Dr. William Meyer of Rutgers University to further turfgrass research. Lebanon Seaboard has numerous ongoing cooperative projects with Dr. Meyer and Dr. C. Reed Funk at Rutgers that have led to the release of several turfgrass varieties. The amount represents royalties for some of these varieties.
They include Rembrandt, Picasso, and Masterpiece, and Da Vinci Tall Fescue; Champagne, Bordeaux, Cabernet, and Sonoma Kentucky Bluegrass; Secretariat, Affirmed, Exacta, Churchill, and Charismatic Perennial ryegrass; Oxford Hard Fescue, Pathfinder Creeping Red Fescue, and Ambassador Chewings Fescue. Many of these varieties rank at the top of recent NTEP trials and have gained wide acclaim in the industry.
