LESCO expands distribution with independent marketers

LESCO, the world’s largest vertically integrated marketer and manufacturer of products for the professional turf management industry, is launching a totally new initiative to expand distribution of its products into geographic markets not served by its 228 LESCO Service Centers and LESCO Stores-on-Wheels according to Chairman, President and CEO, Bill Foley.

To expand the geographic reach of its product line, LESCO is announcing the formation of an Independent Marketer program designed to allow their proprietary products to be sold in selected markets via non-traditional LESCO owned locations. With this new initiative, LESCO has identified an opportunity to establish independent marketing arrangements for their agronomic and equipment product lines throughout the United States in over 500 geographic markets. These markets were selected based on the potential to reach professional lawn care and golf course customers, through existing distributors and marketers of green industry goods, garden centers, and nurseries.

“We believe this will serve as a new growth platform we are uniquely positioned to implement,” said Foley “We have the professional turf industry’s most comprehensive, branded product line, but it’s not available everywhere in the country despite our extensive chain of Service Centers and golf Stores on Wheels. Now, we’ve chosen to launch an aggressive program to make our product line available throughout the U.S. via independent marketers who already have the infrastructure in place to market our products.”

Independent Marketer’s will have access to all of the company’s proprietary products, enabling them to serve all segments of the professional turf care market. These products include LESCO’s premium golf course fertilizer line Novex and LESCO Poly Plus sulfur coated urea fertilizers and combination products that are a mainstay for slow release fertilizers, the CommercialPlus™ line of application and mowing equipment, LESCO branded combination and control products and seed. The company will also provide each marketer with extensive support that includes national advertising, LESCONews, the industry’s most widely read publication, store merchandising and presentation guidance and in-store signage and marketing materials. In addition, the company will provide our marketing partners with on-line order entry, customer service, technical support and in market training.
