Mid-Am Releases More Space for 2004 ShowThe Mid-America Horticultural Trade Show announced that it has made additional space available for sale for Mid-Am 2004 at Chicago’s Lakeside Center in McCormick Place. The initial floor plan encompassing 110,300 net square feet of exhibit space, which was offered to existing Mid-Am exhibitors, was nearly sold out at the end of the 2003 show. An additional 4,900 square feet of exhibit space, originally set aside in the expansion area of the 2004 floor plan, has now been released. The amount of floor space is 25 percent more that was available for Mid-Am 2003 at Navy Pier. The expanded space will first be offered to current exhibitors that may want to relocate their booth, then to companies that are on the wait list and then on a first come, first serve basis.
“We are very excited about how well the 2004 show is selling,” said Mid-Am president Larry Thalmann III of Chalet Nursery and Garden Shop in Wilmette, Ill. “Demand for exhibit space at Mid-Am 2004 has been overwhelming. The initial space offered to existing exhibitors was virtually sold out by the close of Mid-Am 2003. Now that we have made additional booths available, Mid-Am seems to be growing by leaps and bounds.”
Lakeside Center in McCormick Place included such beneficial features as adjacent parking for more than 9,000 vehicles, a total of 390,000 square feet of exhibit space, 40 meeting rooms and a 45,000-square-foot ballroom. The 2004 show will have added features such as concessions area at the back of the show floor, rest areas with seating throughout the floor and wider aisles. The show will take place Jan. 14-Jan. 16, 2004. For more information, visit www.midam.org.
