Monte Lake joins ANLA consultant roster
The American Nursery & Landscape Association recently announced the expansion of its relationship with Washington, D.C.-firm McGuinness, Norris & Williams when Monte Lake, Esq., firm partner, joined ANLA’s certified consultants roster. ANLA’s consultants provide ANLA members with complimentary and preferred-fee services for unique knowledge about issues of crucial importance to green industry businesses.
Lake will provide members with assistance and insight regarding a variety of labor topics such as wage-hour employment issues, social security administration reporting, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. In response to growing industry need, Lake will also assist on immigration and accessing labor through the H2A and H2B temporary seasonal worker programs. For the past three years, the firm has also provided ANLA members with guidance regarding OSHA compliance issues.
The MNW firm and Monte Lake have long been regarded in Washington as a key resource for the federal government on business and agricultural labor issues. The firm works with numerous businesses and associations, and has worked extensively with the ANLA-led Agricultural Coalition for Immigration Reform.
Many congressional offices also rely on Monte Lake, in conjunction with ANLA’s government relations staff, for input on how pending legislation would affect the green industry. “Monte Lake and ANLA have developed a reputation as trusted Capitol Hill resources for information and insights on labor challenges and solutions for the nursery and landscape industry,” said Damon Tobias, special counsel and legislative assistant to Idaho Republican Sen. Larry Craig. Craig has long been an advocate for comprehensive labor reform for agriculture and the green industry.
