New Irrigation Class Added to ProgramWhen surveyed, WESTERN members cited employee training as one of the most important components of a valuable annual meeting and trade show. The WESTERN has responded to this feedback by adding a New Irrigation Class to the 2004 educational program that will focus on Electrical Troubleshooting and Diagnosing Field Wiring Problems. Brought to Kansas City by the Irrigation Association, this class will train your team to properly use volt-ohm meters and how to diagnose wiring problems based on their readings. They'll also learn the correct use and application of wire locating equipment. Most importantly, participants will be taught the most effective steps in sorting out confusing electrical problems so they'll rarely have to resort to running new wire as a solution.
The class will be presented by Cathie Lavis of Kansas State and Kevin Marks of Hydrologic and includes a half-day of instruction, a manual and handouts. The time and money this education will save you on your next job will allow you to easily recoup the $95 class fee. Kevin Fateley, Vice President of Kanscapes, Inc. said this about the class:
“I attended an Irrigation Association Seminar concerning electrical troubleshooting of sprinkler systems. The knowledge and techniques of using a simple $20 OHM reader has proven to be invaluable. We recouped the seminar cost immediately with our troubleshooting efficiency. A great seminar!”
