NYSTA Adirondack Regional Conference To Be Held In Lake Placid, NY
The New York State Turfgrass Association (NYSTA), in cooperation with Cornell Cooperative Extension, and the Adirondack Golf Course Superintendents Association, will hold its 2004 Adirondack Regional Conference on April 1, 2004, at the Hilton Lake Placid Resort in Lake Placid, New York. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) recertification credits will be offered for this conference. In addition, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) is offering education points.
Show registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with a morning general session scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Dr. Frank Rossi, New York Extension Turfgrass Specialist and Assistant Professor of Turfgrass Science at Cornell University, will present research updates. John Bennett with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will discuss, “Preparing For An Inspection.” Updates on weed control will also be presented during the general session.
Individual educational sessions will be presented from 10:30 to 12:00 p.m. and again from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Topics will include “Grasses & Varietal Selection,” “Best Management Practices to Protect Water Quality,” “Common Sense Fertilization for Sports Fields,” and “Managing Turf with Reduced Inputs.” During breaks and lunch, attendees will have an opportunity to visit the trade show.
