PLCAA Announces New Staff Position
The Professional Lawn Care Association of America (PLCAA) announced that April Hobbs has joined the staff as its Member Marketing and Communications Manager. PLCAA Executive Vice President, Gary Clayton in the announcement said, “The PLCAA is fortunate to have April on the staff. She has excellent experience in associations and held positions that will serve the PLCAA.” He added, “April has an essential blend of communication skills, including participation in radio and television, and has proven marketing successes. She also understands Internet technology and has knowledge in database management that will support association initiatives. April also brings legislative experience that will serve our industry.”
Hobbs, a University of Georgia graduate in Consumer Economics and Business Administration, held positions as a Cooperative Extension Agent, as the Communications Director for the Georgia Forestry Association (GFA), as the Director of State & Environmental Affairs for the Southern Forestry Products Association (SFPA), and was the Executive Director of the Georgia Industry Association. She was named in Who’s Who in American Business 2000. In addition, Ms. Hobbs authored a special article on GFA’S world record-setting tree planting in 1998 Guinness Book of World Records and was the Project Manager for “On Your Mark, Get Set, Grow Georgia!” winner of the 1998 National Arbor Day Foundation Advertising and Public Relations Award.
