Redexim Charterhouse Hosts Panel Discussion on Seeding at GCSAA Show in Atlanta
Redexim Charterhouse Inc. held a panel discussion, entitled “Seeds of Wisdom,” featuring three turf industry leaders to explore issues related to seeds and seeding on February 13th at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park Educational Center in Atlanta. The event, which featured speakers from Barenbrug USA, Mississippi State University and Maredo BV., was announced as the first in a series of international forums to address trends and topics important to turf professionals.
The forum included an opening presentation by Roeland Kapsenberg, president and chief executive officer for internationally-known seed producer Barenbrug USA. Kapsenberg’s comments focused primarily on the current state of turf seed research and development as well as anticipated future changes in seed characteristics and customer requirements.
Mike Goatley, turf sciences professor at Mississippi State University, addressed seed germination and growth issues and his school’s experiments in these key areas.
Marinus Reinke of Maredo explored recent developments in seeding equipment, including technology changes oriented toward customers’ changing requirements.
