Scotts Seed Launches New Web Site

The professional seed division of The Scotts Co. announces the launch of its new Web site: www.scottsproseed.com. Turf managers, sod producers, landscape contractors and sports field and golf course architects and builders will now have easy access to printable specification sheets on more than 55 turf seed varieties and 20 blends and mixes. In addition, the site provides useful information on the 12 different genetic types of Kentucky bluegrass available, and categorizes each Kentucky bluegrass variety by its type.

“Turf with a diverse genetic mix is going to perform and wear much better than turf produced from varieties that are all the same, basic type,” says Wayne Horman, director of seed sales and marketing for The Scotts Co. “Our new site can help turf professionals make their variety selections with better diversity in mind.”

The site also provides color charts that indicate turf color as well as NTEP and regional trial rankings for Kentucky bluegrass, fescue and ryegrass varieties.
