Seed Research offers velvet bentgrass samples
Seed Research of Oregon is offering free one-pound samples of its new velvet bentgrass - SR 7200 - to qualified customers through its normal distribution channels.
“For years we have been at the forefront of touting the attributes of velvet bentgrass” said Seed Research of Oregon agronomist Skip Lynch. “Superintendents have had success in New England, the Pacific Northwest and England, but the great news of SR 7200 doesn’t seem to have reached superintendents outside those small regions.”
SR 7200 has a fine leaf texture, forms a tighter canopy, requires a fraction of the fertilizer and water of any creeping bentgrass, and is the most shade tolerant bentgrass available.
For a limited time, free samples of SR 7200, marketed in Europe under the name of Avalon, will be available for nursery/practice green trials. To participate in the program, call 1-800-253-5766 or visit their web site at www.sroseed.com to locate a distributor in your area.
