Syngenta and The Institute Create e-Learning Grant
Due to a partnership between Syngenta Professional Products and The Environmental Institute of Golf funding an e-Learning grant, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America’s (GSCAA) online education program will be expanded.
Beginning in the spring of 2004, GCSAA’s e-Learning will expand to include a Webcast “Lunch and Learn” series. This series will consist of a 90-minute presentation to be held the second Thursday of each month at noon, CST.
After pre-registering, members can log on to the Internet and participate in the live event, taught by a GCSAA seminar faculty member. Attendees will be able to respond to online polls and surveys, ask questions of the instructor and use the Internet as a resource in the virtual classroom.
The grant, established specifically to further the development of Web-based education, will provide funding to create more online, self-paced courses in addition to live Webcast events.
GCSAA’s online courses, available 24/7, allow individuals the freedom to learn when and where it’s convenient for them. Ten topics are now available, ranging from finance to turfgrass physiology to golf course remodeling. The grant will further the development of a variety of new courses featuring more interactivity.
