Top invasive plants for New York announced
The Invasive Plant Council of New York State (IPCNYS) has created the first-ever list of top invasive species for New York. The list includes the top twenty most invasive species, which have a statewide distribution or the potential of becoming a statewide problem. Each of the plants is a major problem in some area of the state.
The list has been distributed to people throughout New York and has served as an educational tool. It will continually be updated with species added or deleted as the Council learns more about the impact of invasive plants or control efforts. For more information and a list of plants, please visit the Council’s website at www.nysm.nysed.gov/ipcnys/.
