The Toro Co. Partners with the Minnesota Vikings to Help Twin Cities
For the past 15 years, the Minnesota Vikings have relied on Toro irrigation systems and most recently Toro equipment to keep their Winter Park practice facility in top condition. That relationship took on new meaning when more than 20 Toro employees partnered with the Minnesota Vikings to install a playground at St. David's Child Development and Family Services in Minnetonka, Minn.
In addition to volunteer manpower, the company is providing two Toro Dingo compact utility loaders with backhoe attachment to help prepare the site for the large playground pieces. Creative, educational, and therapeutic play has always been at the heart of St. David's early childhood philosophy, and the new playground will meet the goal of creating a safe, accessible, exciting and educational play space for children of all abilities.
The Toro Foundation, the principal funding entity for The Toro Co.'s contribution program, has approved a $10,000 grant to St. David's toward the playground project. "We're pleased to partner with the Minnesota Vikings on this important project to benefit children," said Stacy Bogart, president of The Toro Foundation. "It's the perfect activity to kick off the United Way's 'Two Weeks to Make a Difference.'"
