Turfgrass Hall of Fame Inducts Van Dam

The Southern California Turfgrass Foundation recently inducted John Van Dam into its Hall of Fame. In 1997, the foundation initiated an award program to recognize individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the Turfgrass Industry, particularly in Southern California. The Southern California Turfgrass Foundation Hall of Fame was established to provide a way to express the industry’s gratitude for a significant or lifetime of achievement.

The newest Hall of Fame inductee began his career with the UC Cooperative Extension Service in 1959 as a Farm Management Advisor and for over two decades was also the Turfgrass Advisor for the largest part of Southern California.
