Tyler announces Global Information Service
Tyler Enterprises (Elwood, Ill.) has announced the introduction of a highly sophisticated global information service for the golf course and public grounds markets. Using GPS technology, Tyler's new service will allow customers to identify site-specific soil and turf needs through electronic mapping and soil sampling.
Based on the customer's needs, the maps produced can be as simple as the delineation of the perimeter of a golf course or park district property, or as comprehensive as a map that identifies sand traps, water and even individual trees. Soil testing and analysis done in conjunction with the mapping will give customers the ability to optimize their fertilizer and chemical use through Tyler's custom fertilizer-application system.
The global information service will be managed by Kolin Erb, recently hired by Tyler as a global positioning specialist.
