Walker announces Precision Obstacle Course Championship for Expo 2002

Walker Manufacturing has announced, in conjunction with Sellers Expositions, the Walker Mowers Precision Obstacle Course National Championship at the 2002 International Lawn, Garden and Power Equipment Expo.

The course will provide an opportunity for Walker dealers, owners and operators to demonstrate their skills in a friendly competition.   EXPO 2002, sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), is set for Friday through Sunday, July 19-21, in Louisville, Kentucky.

On Friday, participants will have the opportunity to maneuver a Walker mower through an obstacle course. On Saturday morning, operators with the top 50 to 75 qualifying times will try a more challenging course. Then, the top 10 to 15 contestants will advance to the finals on Saturday afternoon, with the winner taking the title of National Champion Walker Operator.  Walker will provide awards to the top three operators. The National Champion will enjoy a five-day vacation for two to Colorful Colorado where they will tour the factory among other exciting events.

"For years, we have been amazed at the tremendous eye/hand coordination skills developed by professional Walker operators.  This event showcases and gives the competitive setting for recognition of the achievement of highly skilled Walker operators in much the same way as professional athletic and racing competitions," explains Walker president, Bob Walker.
