John Deere Golf & Turf One Source Chosen For New Golf Course
John Deere announced that its One Source program has been chosen to provide products and services during the construction and future maintenance of Pendleton Golf Course, located in Ladysmith, Va. The project – a par-72, 7,100-yard championship golf course – was designed by Thomas Walker and will be constructed by Raven Golf Construction (based out of Birmingham, Ala.). The course is the first phase of Pendleton Community, a 3,500-unit residential and mixed-use development.
Throughout the past few months, Raven Golf Construction has worked closely with John Deere distributor Revels Tractor Company to develop an action plan for the course construction.
According to Larry Adcock, sales manager for Revels Tractor, the contract includes construction equipment from John Deere Construction & Forestry, drainage products from Hancor, a full irrigation package from Hunter Golf, grass seed from Turf-Seed, fertilizer from Howard Fertilizer, and a commitment for the purchase of John Deere mowing and maintenance equipment in the future. He added that John Deere Credit is being utilized for part of the financing, and additional One Source partner products are being considered for use throughout the construction and grow-in process.
