Louisiana Landscaper Wins John Deere Quik-Trak
Celebrating its 25th year in business, Lafayette, La., landscaping company Grass Roots, Inc., received an extraordinary anniversary gift when owner Rusty Ruckstuhl, Jr., won a John Deere 647A Quik-Trak mower. The Quik-Trak was the grand prize in John Deere’s product giveaway held at the 2005 Green Industry Expo (GIE) in Orlando.
While attending GIE, Ruckstuhl stopped by the John Deere booth to examine the company’s latest offerings for professional landscape contractors. He didn’t know he’d end up with two John Deere mowers instead of just one.

“I was already considering a John Deere – a Z-Trak with the new Mulch-on-Demand Deck – so I was thrilled to find out we won a Quik-Trak too,” said Ruckstuhl.
In addition to its mowing and maintenance work, Grass Roots is a full-service Landscape Design/Build company with a variety of services, including lighting and drainage, landscape architecture, landscape contracting, irrigation contracting, and construction management.
