Meteorlogix Announces Tournament Sponsorship with the Minnesota Section of the PGA of America
Minneapolis-based Meteorlogix, DTN’s brand of commercial weather services, announced it will provide weather services to the Minnesota Section of the PGA of America for the Pro Series and the Minnesota State Open events.
By using Meteorlogix services, the Minnesota Section of the PGA of America has access to real-time, location-specific weather information for each of its events.
In addition, the Minnesota Section of the PGA of America will utilize Meteorlogix’s patented WINS mobile alerting technology. WINS technology sends customized weather information to event officials via PC, cell phone, e-mail, PDA or pager. This ensures that event officials who are out on the golf course are still being updated on developing weather conditions.
The Pro Series Tournaments will be held at Midland Hills Country Club on May 9, 2005, The Refuge Golf Course on July 5, 2005 and Woodhill Country Club on October 10, 2005. The Minnesota State Open will be held at Bunker Hills Golf Club July 22-24, 2005.
“Meteorlogix is proud to be the official weather sponsor of the Minnesota Section of the PGA of America,” said Robert Gordon, chief executive officer of DTN. “We strive to provide easy to use, state-of-the-art weather information for golf courses in order to keep patrons safe and event officials on top of developing weather conditions.”
