Mid-Am Announces Election Results
The Mid-America Horticultural Trade Show (Mid-Am) Board of Directors held elections at a recent meeting in Schaumburg, Ill. The Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from Mid-Amís three sponsoring organizations: the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association (ILCA), the Illinois Nurserymenís Association (INA) and the Wisconsin Green Industry Federation (WGIF), formerly known as the Wisconsin Landscape Federation (WLF).
The Board of Directors elected the following officers for 2005-2006. John Hendricksen of The Care of Trees in Wheeling, Ill., was re-elected president of the Mid-Am Board. Hendricksen was also reappointed for a three-year term to represent ILCA on the Mid-Am Board. Randy Jasperson of Jasperson Sod in Franksville, Wis., was re-elected as vice president and reappointed for a three-year term to represent WGIF. Kurt Meyer of Meyer Landscape & Design in Moline, Ill., and representing INA was re-elected as Secretary. Tom Kusmerz of The Barn Nursery & Landscape Center in Cary, Ill., was re-elected Treasurer.
Mid-Am appointed a new director during the recent elections. Carsten Hoffmeyer of Hoffie Nursery in Union, Ill., was appointed to represent INA, replacing Larry Thalmann III of Chalet Nursery and Garden Shop in Wilmette, Ill., who retired from the Mid-Am Board of Directors. Remaining on the Board is Greg Oltman of GRO Horticultural Enterprises, Inc., in Union, Ill., representing ILCA, Richard Harms of Countryside Flower Shop & Nursery in Crystal Lake, Ill., representing INA, and Bill Vogel of Spring Valley Turf Products in Jacksonville, Wis., representing WGIF.
