NYSTA Southeast Regional Conference To Be Held In Tarrytown, N.Y.
The New York State Turfgrass Association (NYSTA), in cooperation with Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Professional Landscape Association of Rockland County, the New York State Turf and Landscape Association, and the New York State Association of Cemeteries, will hold its Southeast Regional Conference on Feb. 28 at the Hilton Tarrytown in Tarrytown, N.Y. According to conference co-chair, Michael Maffei, CGCS, the conference was moved to Tarrytown last year after being held for 12 years in Suffern, N.Y. “The show last year at the Hilton Tarrytown in Westchester County was so successful that we decided to continue with this venue.”
This year’s conference will begin with coffee and registration at 6:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) has approved 13.5 pesticide recertification credits. New Jersey and Connecticut recertification credits will also be available. The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America has also awarded .65 Education Points for this program.
Conference co-chair and NYSTA president, Jim Diermeier, CGM/CNP, said this year’s show will again feature accredited Certified Landscape Technician Training (CLT) sessions
